... as 2021s like TE Fidone take center stage

By PARKER GABRIEL Lincoln Journal Star 34 min ago

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — As Thomas Fidone broke into the open court off a steal on Friday night at Lewis Central High, the crowd noise swelled the way it does when everybody knows what comes next. Fidone, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound forward in basketball and a four-star, nationally coveted class of 2021 tight end in football, took off, c$%ked the ball back behind his head and went for the two-handed hammer dunk.  LINK

Nice little article in the LJS about Fidone.  Lubick and Beckton were there watching their (hopefully) TE recruit for next year's class.

This would be a good payback to Iowa for Noah Fant.

If you reed Fant's page, Huskerboard.com was not really that interested in him until it was too late.  Not so with Fidone.

We deserved to miss out on Fant.  This won't be a payback  ... just a good recruiting win.

Teddy P. is #58, FWIW
It's still early but Teddy at #58, Fidone #60, and Dickerson the #3 overall CB per 247 as early commits is looking promising for a run at a top 10 class. All we would need is to have a solid season of ~7-8 wins and this recruiting class might be one for the books.

Not saying we will get either but a chance still on Bollers (129th) overall and Lewis (29th) overall

I agree. We have a lot of high end talent giving us a hard look. If we could string together 7 wins showing good progress this year I think we could see a huge uptick in our landing these kids and recruiting in general going to the next level. The fact this many high level kids are looking at us after 3 straight pathetic seasons is amazing.

Has Nebraska ever signed 2 top-60 kids?

It just kills me hearing people say "7-8 wins". If you look at our schedule, this team should be GUARANTEED to start 7-0...

Theyre aiming for a bunch of pretty good recruits but dont necessarily discount some of the lower rated ones.  I think they are doing a dam good job of finding good quality guys early enough to build relationships with kids, coaches, families etc.  Cross recruiting is also a real benefit.  I am no insider or recruiting expert but it appears that lots of schools are following us all over on a majority of guys we are chasing.

I expect us to have as many as 14 commits by Sept 1 and grab several top notch guys by Oct 10th
