Tech afterthought

Why does ff always bring up the 2003 season. It's likes he thinks that team is the

greatest in huskers history. The team went 10-3.They didn't win the Big12 North.

They didn't win the Big12 title. They won the Alamo Bowl. The Alamo Bowl. The score

was 17-3.That sure beats the 95 team and the destruction the team put on Florida.

FF thinks Frank was the greatest coach in huskers history.Frank no rings.Tom won

3 rings.Tom went 60-3 his last 63 games.Frank went 16-10.We all know you hate

this team(coaches, players, and everyone who works for this football program).

Maybe you hate Milt who gave praise to the football program. Also McBride has said

good things about were the football is headed.People will respect your points but

all you do is rip everything about this program.Your hatered for this football team

is getting to the point is Why are you still a fan.USC is doing everything right,so why not become a fan of theirs.Everyone should have a opnioin, but to you, Bill will

never do any thing right. If everything is about wining National Titles than Tom failed 22 of the 25 years.Frank failed big time. And right now Bill hasn't got a passing grade yet.YET.Remember it took Tom 23 years to win a Title. This team is

starting to show improvements, but your hatred has got you blind. So what Bill isn't

from Nebraska.Neither is me,so does that mean I can't root for my huskers like I

have been since 1982.Bill is a WCO coach who was hired to teach option players.

You will see improvements. They didn't build rome in one day.

One of the worst posts i have seen from former in a a while. First of all, name me a team, any team, that has "stopped" tech. Not even the national championship sooners could dominate the game defensively. All you can do is let them rack up their yards, create a few turnovers, and stop them in the redzone when the field shrinks. We accomplished two of the three. Second of all, the offense has gotten signifacantly better than in the begginning of the year, and remember, Everyone has a year's worth of film to look at now. Last year, no one had any film. Callahan continues to slip in more wrinkles, and most of them work, from the fake to Glenn up the middle toss to Lucky on the outside to the numerous crossing routes we have been using to free guys up in man coverage, it is obvious that Callahan is learning and progressing, even as Taylor has as a quarterback, and the defense has as a unit with heart. You are willing to give all of the blame to Cally and the coaching staff when the team gives up last year in TT, and none of the praise when they go down 21 to the same team, and fight back only to be robbed by one man's momentary lack of sanity. Yes, you can put this game on one play when the play is so outstandingly stupid that it can be compared to a Leon Lett play. You cant coach that, and you dont even think to remind someone, because it's like telling someone to put on a uniform before a game. You intercept the ball with little time left on the clock when your up, you fall down. I dont care if your Deion fricken Sanders, you fall down. Period. As far as your obsession with weight, who has more sacks? This year's team or the much "smaller, faster" team of 03? Who had our sacks on Saturday? Moore (270 lbs), Carriker (280 lbs), Ruud (230lbs). Who leads the team and is up there nationally in sacks? Carriker. The reason that we were able to get away with smaller defenses in the past is that we had great corners and could blitz 7 or 8 on every play, not to mention NFL calliber rush ends and linebackers. Once again, we have 2 of the 3. I disagree with you post in the strongest terms.
:yeah

Former had a lot of valid points in posts related to previous games, but after a solid performance in all aspects against Tech, his true colors are really starting to show. He complains about coaching, recruiting, etc. It really is ridiculous. I think some of you really give this guy too much credibility. I for one won't be taking any of his posts seriously in the future.

I forgot to add: what about a nickle or dime package, does coz not have one??? :WTH

They ran the nickel a few times on saturday on third downs. Like Dave said the final part of the 2nd quarter and the whole second half his gameplan worked better then any I've seen against Tech.

I know we still lost.

Also if you don't see that Taylor is better at running this system then Dailey was you are lost. So since Jamal Lord had better stats then ANY option QB ever at NU does that mean he was better then Turner, Frazier, Frost, or Crouch?

I thought the game on saturday was superb in effort from the players and coaching. A few mistakes made by excitable kids. NU lost but the sun still came up. I was just pleased to see the team grow and gel together. Shatel didn't even have a bad word to say about them. Can't wait to see what Vomitnecht says. Former, I think some of what you say displays a genuine concern, but most of that post is a flailing attempt to say something negative about a team coming together under the direction of a good coaching staff that had a good game plan.

:dis

There is a thin line between showing concern and being critical of every aspect of the game, and Former seems to step over that line over and over again.

We all know we have problems with out left tackle and right tackles. We all know we have some problems with our corners like Grixby who keeps getting outplayed, or Bowman who is still learning in the system. Hell, we even have a former RB playing as DB for the first time this year. It's one thing to say "ok he is new to the system and he can't be really faulted yet" and there's another in saying "this guy came in overhyped".

Playing the Juco level and playing DIV-A level are night and day. You have stronger, faster lineman, and more experienced coaches in DIV-A then you do in the juco's. Heck, even Jim Tressel struggled adapting from the DIV-AA level to DIV-A level his first year. He went 7-5 his first year, and his second year he began to change his offense around to suit the players and they went on to win a national title that year.

Callahan has done the same thing. His gameplan is focused on what talent we have at the moment from option players to WCO players like Zac Taylor, Harrison Beck. Our CURRENT tight ends are the biggest example option players struggling to adapt to the WCO. There's NOTHING Callahan and the offensive staff can do about it at the moment, except buy some time and recruit guys who are fitted into that system.

I agree.

Sorry Former, you need to get your eyes checked calling Taylor "Joe Dailey" like. These kids and this staff are going to continue to work hard and win no matter how much you dislike it.

good post nameless, right on the money!

Again thank you for the comments related to the loss, it is nice to know there are Husker fans who still understand that loosing is NOT OK.
It's unbeleiveable to even imagine that someone would even say this. Former, you must have a twin brother.

I don't like it when Nebraska loses, but the way they played Saturday, I was absolutely, 100% behind them when the game clock read 00:00.

If they would have folded up and packed it in at 21-0 then yes, I would have been disappointed. But they did not do ONE THING in that game that made me ashamed to be a fan of the Huskers.

Maybe you don't remember this old saying, "It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game". Nebraska more than proved itself to me and the hundreds of thousands that tuned into that game.

So don't come to this board ranting how "losing is not ok", we all knew Nebraska was going to lose "a" game this year and we knew they were underdogs against a very potent offense in Tech.

Had it not been for an over zealous player that wanted to contribute to his teams WINNING effort, this game would have played out much differently. Obviously, due to the powers that be, it's not time yet for Nebraska to return to greatness.

In due time that day will come. And when it does I'll be just as proud of them at that moment as I was after the Texas Tech game of 05'.

I thought winning wasn't everything at NU? We know that's BS.

i may be naive, but shouldn't someone named "formerfan" also be named "formerposter" on a husker board? now that would be nice.... i've never seen anyone go from pseudo praise to trashing the staff so fast in my life ....

what a treat that post was ....

He's like that Marvel comic book villian Two-Face. Half of his face is painted in Husker colors the other is in Sooner.

It must be tough getting sound sleep at night.

He probably tosses about arguing with himself almost constantly.
