Ted Gilmore

I hear good things from a lot of fans about Ted Gilmore, the new WR coach. Some who were at the spring game say the receivers looked a lot better than last spring. That could have been partially to do with the QB, but still. He seems to be doing well. Anyone else hear anything about him? He looks to be a good hire by Callahan

Explain?!
Does he have a good reputation as a coach, and is he suppose to be a strong recruiter?
Please ignore that idiotic comment. Strike it from the record.

Actually from what I saw in camp this spring, Gilmore seems more active than Gill. Whether its' simply his personality or he he knows more and thus is more confident in his ability to coach, I don't know. But Gilmore is certainlly more active on the field

Not that they were ever the 49ers of the 80s, but it sure seems like the wrs have regressed quite a bit since last year. Whats changed????????? :WTH

I think Turner was just kept around for a year to make fans happy...great guy (and a good QB coach, in my opinion), but probably a little out of place in a WR coach setting in the WCO. He probably learned a lot, which will help him down the road.

I think part of Gillmore's prowess is evidenced by the way 83 looked in the SG. He will be a star for NU. :woo

What are you talking about? Did you go to the spring game? Did you go to some practices? Or are you just trying to start crap again. If they catch passes then they are a step above the WR that quit after last year. How many did that dude drop? From what I saw of the spring game LeFlore, Isiah, and Nunn looked pretty good.

From everything I saw and heard reported, wr's are considered the weak part of this offense, and they were plagued by drops all spring.

Provide a link so the rest of us can read what has been reported...

Please explain what you have seen... Do you have special access to practices??

Since you don’t understand that “reported” doesn’t necessarily mean in print (you know, broadcast news), I guess Im not sure how to provide you with links to what I commonly heard on the local news stations and afternoon radio sports shows that said that the wrs seem to be a weak point. Besides, if you go back on this forum, everyone is saying how badly NU needs Hardy and Brooks to step in and how they may be starters. If the current guys are playing so superbly, then why do the newcomers need to step up and take control?

One little blurb I have for you, posted from Hoyamann (I assume he went to the Spring Practice) on 4/17 from the forum “Comparing Spring Games….”ars”

“I liked a lot of what I saw on Saturday, especially ZT hitting on about 90% of his passes (without a couple of drops/penalties, he could easily have been 24 or 25 for 27).”

Or are you calling him a liar?

Im not calling him a liar im calling you a troll.

Where in hoyamanns comments does it say anything about the wr's being the weak part of the offense? So you consider 90% completion bad?

Your really digging to find something negative...

I guess that you're having a tough time comprehending that ZT was 20 of 27 but, per Hoyamann, "without a couple of drops/penalties, he could easily have been 24 or 25 for 27."

Gee, I dunno, but it sounds like there were quite a few drops by the wrs.

No, if I were looking for negatives, Id look to the pathetic performance of the O-line. That should be a bigger issue right now.

Just what I have been saying al along.

As far as the answer to the original post, gilmore seems like the perfect fit for cally:WCO guy who really hasnt had any substantial level of success.

He will (mis)fit into this staff quite well.
