Ted Gilmore

Anyone have some good stat's on the spring game? All that I can find says the White team had two penalties, not saying what they were. I am not sure if they really effected the completion pct, but say they do. Taking hoyamann's numbers, that means the receivers dropped 2-3 balls. 7-11% of the total passes attempted by Taylor. This is assuming that the ball was there for the catching and they just dropped it.

Given that and saying at this point they are regressing from last year? No. Have they stayed the same? Maybe. But how is their route running? How has the ability to shake a defender improved or not?

As most people will think, it is too early to tell. I was looking for feedback as Eric gave. How is he fitting in with the players and the staff.

Eric, thanks for the feedback on the coach. I am going to see what else I can dig up.

The recieving in the spring game this year was easily as good as any we have seen for the huskers in quite some time. There was maybe one ball that "should" have been caught and wasn't.

Before you blow your wad calling Z. Taylor a bad QB formerfan, he did complete 74% of his passes.

The big thing that changed in the spring game, is you have to pay attention to the offense. At least with solich you knew where to look to watch the play. QB left, QB right, damn i miss that, don't you Formerfan? Go live it up in Ohio, the recievers are better, and soon the entire team will prove how much better they are.

What are you talking about? Did you go to the spring game? Did you go to some practices? Or are you just trying to start crap again. If they catch passes then they are a step above the WR that quit after last year. How many did that dude drop? From what I saw of the spring game LeFlore, Isiah, and Nunn looked pretty good.

I wouldn't say they got worse, but I don't believe they have gotten much beter since last year.

1. I never said he was bad, that is something that we wont find out until he has played against someone other than the scout team.

2. You know what I miss, winning 75-100% of our games and going to a bowl. It seems that you (like many) dont miss that???? :wacko:

 
Former fan, i have one thing to say to all of your comment, LOL! Everything you say on these boards is meant to instigate, so i recommend that people simply stop listening. Im calling for a site wide boycott of formerfan. Ignore him. Dont answer him. all that you are doing is to give him (or her?) a rise, because that is what his or her life has sunk too, so I am going to act like his or her posts dont exist, and to that effect, to answer the oringinal question, no one on the inside has said much about Gilmore, so most of what your gonna hear is speculation from people with limited access to the team. Eric says that he looks more active in practice, which is good, but other than that you can only go by the spring game and how his pupils performed, so here is what I saw. I saw relatively clean routes against backups and vanilla defense, which is what they saw last year, minus the clean routes. The receivers showed good abitilty to make some tougher catches that they probably would have dropped last year, including a nice slant route by Nate Swift, and a couple of nice outs by Swift and Nunn. I saw an increased ability to do something with the ball after the catch, as Swift, Nunn, and Leflore made some nice tough yards after the catch. Also, and this is the most encouraging, I actually saw some improvization by receivers after a play broke down. Nunn has a long TD catch on a play where he ran a post, and then after Taylor looked around for a second and made eye contact, Nunn took off down the seam and made a great play. All of these observations have led me to believe that Gilmore is doing his job, at least we hope.
