Ted's

Roy CO HSKR

Five-Star Recruit
Some of you may be familiar with Ted's Montana Grill, 3 of which dot the metro Denver area and serve his (Ted Turner) famous bison steaks and burgers. Apparantly, three well healed Husker transplants here are going to be opening at least 2 restaurants to be known as Herbie's Buffalo Grill. After the game on the 25th, they are taking ownership of Ralphie, as their inaugural prize, and using him (her) in a huge promotion for the opening night. It is rumored that these new restaurant owners have offered a sum of money so large to the CU Athletic Department, that the CU administration could not turn it down even though giving up Ralphie is a black eye for most fans here. From what I understand the agreement is that the mascot would be able to remain in his (her) present position (cage) until after the bowl games.

Doesn't this seem to be calloused and insensitive, even for dyed-in-the-wool Husker supporters? I mean this appears to be mean and beyond decent sportmanship. I hope that all reasonable Husker fans will voice their complaints. I don't think there should be any compromises to this cold venture. Even agreeing to serve corn-on-the-cob would not be enough of a concession to offset the hurt feelings that this move would generate. How would any Colorado citizen have any desire to even enter such an establishment, let alone eat a Ralphie burger! Except, maybe a CSU fan!

Should I dare post this on the www.allbuffs.comsite? The husker fan threads are really driving them to hightened vehemence!

You ought to check them out. If you haven't, you would be amazed. You can search their threads without registering. If you want to comment then you'll have to register.
