Terence Crawford

An extremely measured fight, and maybe that's what made it a great fight if slightly less exciting. That was some very professional boxing.

Crawford is now a legend and never needs to fight again, but I wouldn't bet on that.

He is just so damn quick and has a wild IQ. Really happy for him.

Not to dwell, but I don’t know how two of the cards were 115-113. Would like to understand the judges’ reasoning

Canelo winning the 2nd round on all 3 score cards is a head-scratcher to me. I'll have to rewatch the fight.

I could see the judges giving Canelo 4 rounds. 2 that he cleanly won, and 2 that were close.

The gate took in nearly $47.3 million for the fight.

So was the guaranteed $200 million ($150 million for Canelo) coming directly from bin Salman's Saudi Arabian wealth fund?

I heard more than a few boos at his introduction.

A boxer of this stature typically has bigger play in pop culture and commercial endorsements. It will be interesting to see where Crawford goes from here.

Breakdown of the $200 Million Purse
  • Broker:
Turki Alalshikh, the GEA chairman, arranged the deal.

  • Canelo Alvarez's Share:
Alvarez is reportedly set to receive a large portion of this sum, with some reports stating his earnings could be as high as $150 million.

  • Terence Crawford's Share:
Crawford is also a significant part of the deal, though he is said to be receiving a smaller share than Alvarez.

  • Context:
This purse represents one of the largest in boxing history and is tied to a larger three-fight contract signed by Alvarez with the GEA.
