Terence Crawford

Crawford was pulled over by Omaha Police UNDER GUNPOINT allegedly for driving erratically. Driving erratically is not cause for drawing a weapon. A lot to find out about this incident at this point.

There were guns in the car. I'm sure that factored into it.
100%.

The point of contention here appears to be that officers did not hear anyone in the car say they had a gun while Crawford was searching for his identification, and then officers spotted one on their own accord. By policy, passengers get removed from a vehicle by gunpoint if this happens. It may sound extreme but officers can't take chances in these kinds of situations.

The officers conducting the traffic stop said they never heard anyone say there was a gun in the car and their body cam footage confirms this. People in Crawford's camp saw the footage and have not disputed this claim, either. The president of the North Omaha Neighborhood Alliance also tried to suggest that Crawford wasn't driving erratically enough to be pulled over, and yet Crawford says "this motherf***** fast" after the officer pulled him over, heavily implying he knew he had been driving poorly even if it was accidental. He wouldn't have said that otherwise.

This seems like a case of Crawford irresponsibility more than officers failing to do their jobs correctly. Any responsible firearm owner knows that if you get pulled over by police, you calmly and clearly tell the officer you have a legal firearm in the car, and then you communicate movements you're about to make BEFORE you make them. You don't leave anything to chance. That protects both you and the officer 99 times out of 100.
