Terry Pettit's legacy at Nebraska

With renovations to Devaney happening, does anyone think that Nebraska should create something to honor Terry Pettit once the new home for volleyball is completed? A bust? Statue? Naming a room, floor, etc. after him?

Afterall, Pettit is to volleyball what Devaney is to football here at Nebraska.

Thoughts?

Pettit floor at the Devaney Center.... kind of has a ring to it.

ofc, it would be dependent on the $$$ he donates to the uni for the renovations. Hmm... how much did TO donate to get his name on Memorial Stadium field?

Pettit Court sounds better, but yeah, you get the idea.

This was another reason I was glad they decided to move the volleyball team to Devaney instead letting it fall apart and tearing it down after the arena was built, to keep the name "Devaney" as building for the University. Now that it will be the home to volleyball, that building show last for many more years with the renovations. Oh and I absolutely agree that Pettit needs to be honored in some way with the new volleyball home, Pettit Court does sound great.

Even moreso after finding out that Pettit may have helped us by helping to get our b-ball coach as well. Apparently Smiles and Pettit became friends, and he had good things to say to Smiles about UNL. I think naming the court after him would be a great idea.

Pettit Court would be a nice way to mark the "passing of the torch" from basketball to volleyball.
