Texas A&M sophomore defensive lineman Adren Dorsey, arrested following an on-campus incident involving a former girlfriend, was released Wednesday afternoon from a Brazos County jail after posting bail of $5,495.

According to a university police report, the ex-girlfriend said Dorsey put his hands around her neck outside the student rec center and picked her up off the ground, then slammed her on the trunk of his vehicle and threw her to the ground.

Aggies coach Mike Sherman said only that Dorsey had missed practice because of a "personal issue with him that we're dealing with."

Dorsey, a 305-pound sophomore from Tyler, had been competing for the starting defensive end position through two weeks of spring practice.

Maybe he can transfer to UO.

I hope she's OK. This is pretty sad stuff, and brings back pretty crappy memories of a certain former Husker.

I knew someone was bound to bring this up. I find it sad that after all these years NU still has a cloud over it's head due to the actions of a few out of control a$$hole$ over 15 years ago. Even though far worse things have transpired in CFB since that time, hell even in our own conference! Yet I never hear their names evoked every time some moron beats on his girlfriend. <_<

Thanks Lawrence Phillips, you truly are the gift that keeps on giving.............kinda like Herpes!

Sadly we've been through these sorts of trials here at NU in the past.

On a side note, schuhbdoo is HuskerBoard's Jerry Springer. He's always posting up articles with drama filled, off-the-field antics from across the nation's college campuses.

I brought it up specifically so that our members wouldn't start pointing fingers. We have lived in that glass house, although it's pretty clear we no longer do.
