Four-Star Recruit
I live the winter months in Texas , and I picked up the "Texas Monthly" magazine , as on its cover it had the subject line of the Aggies leaving the Big 12 for the SEC and also the REASONS behind it having to do with UT in Austin. For those that dont know TEXAS MONTHLY is THE magazine of Texas , with a big subscription base in the Lone Star state , and is sold at the supermarket with all the other big mags.
This magazine had a big story on the Texas Horns and Aggies 100 year plus rivalry , and how that was now going to go away because of the Aggies leaving for the SEC.
Just wanted those in Nebraska to know , EVEN IN TEXAS , no one in this article bagged on NU leaving for greener pastures. In this article they commented on NU not being happy about the Big 12 offices leaving for Dallas , and the good ol boy Texas structure that took the interests of the Big 12 , as far as equality amongst all teams in the league ; the magazine commented on the unfair advantage that was given to the Whorns compared with the rest of the league , especially the unfair financial structure that gave most of the money to Austin.
Texas Monthly magazine did not bag on NU for leaving so much , and they also commented looking from the Aggies way , that the Big 12 league officials were not enforcing compliance laws in place for financial equality and with the forming of the Whorns BEVO NETWORK on ESPN , THAT WAS THE STRAW THAT BROKE THE HORSES BACK as far as the Aggies were concerned. If you think we had it bad in the Big 12 , as far as the unfair advantages that the Big 12 was giving Austin , when you look at it from the Aggies view , take NU's gripes about the Whorns (times X) 100 years.
Last year many were commenting that Nebraska leaving for the Big 10 was sour grapes , however , one year later , most in the Big 12 conference are now saying "OH" , "now we get it " .
We can be thankful Tom Osborne was around our program enough to guide us to this transition , and take us away from a FARCE OF A LEAGUE. Even the folks in Texas realize this now .
