That Burnt Orange Glow in the South?

If any of you care to step outside and look South tonight, you will see an eerie, burnt orange glow just off of the horizon. It's visible as far North as Saskatchewan.

...This would be the Shaggybevo forum melting down after the containment was lost from Texas' loss to Ole Miss. The mods shut it down after the game, but evidently it was too late to keep the whole thing from reaching critical mass.

The casualties are sure to be horrific from the fallout and the entire forum will be a toxic wasteland for months.

Serious, though. The Shaggybevo forum (Texas University) crashed again tonight, and I see they have locked it down from anyone who isn't a registered member. That might be best, because posts seen can never be unseen, and I've watched enough horror films to know that no one should really try to force open that door from where all the strange noises are coming and the ominous music is playing in the background.

I'll just stay here, where we have a little rain and wind blowing from our loss...

Texass game was very very similar to Huskers game. I watched both games.

- both led at half time

- both teams suffered a 3rd quarter disasters

- both zero points in the 2nd half

- dozens of mis-tackling and poor fundamental skills, both teams

- both quit

MISS 44 UT 23

UCLA 41 NU 21

Thus Bo=Mack.

Except for that to be true, Bo would have needed to replace his OC, DC, and multiple position coaches by now.

No, Bo hasn't reached Mack's level. Yet.

But gosh darn it, it sure seems like Bo aspires to coach at Mack Brown's level. Unfortunately, with Bo's loyalty to his coaches, he may be gone before he reaches that level.

Bo has damn near reached Mack's level.

At least Mack doesn't get blown out on a consistent basis. Even if he does lose hilariously with a bunch of 5* recruits. Texas will never reach the level of irrelevance that Bo has allowed Nebraska to reach, simply because they are Texas.

You're confusing Deliss Dodds with Brown, but the point is valid. Texass' dirty oil and ESPN deals won't allow them to stay down forever.

If Texass didn't have that waste of humanity known as Dodds, though...yeah, they'd be in the same boat as us.

Actually, we're both on the same Carnival Cruise ship 'Triumph' (A.K.A. the 'poop' cruise) right now--Texass just has a better room to enjoy the feces in.

No, Texas will never be in the same boat as us because they are located in the 2nd most populous state in the nation and the state with the greatest number of high-profile recuits, which they can essentially hand-select. That's the reason

Population both for TV purposes and national media attention purposes, as well as the fact that good recruits will always be there, ripe for the picking

If we get too far down, we dig ourselves a pretty deep hole. It's nearly impossible for Texas to be in a hole.

If a competent coach takes over, Texas goes 12-1 within 2 seasons, easy

They were 5-7 in 2010. 4-7 in '97. More losing seasons in the late 80s/early 90s. Even Darryl Royal had a 5-5-1 season. There is plenty of poaching of top Texas talent by other in-state and out of state schools, especially when Texas is down.

Sure. But it's much easier for Texas to return to the top than probably any other school in the country. All it takes is any reasonably decent coach...
