Has anyone heard of any single college donation larger then this? I mean if he only could spare 50k of that for some projects I have to finish.

T. Boone Pickens donated something like 300 million to Okie St. several years ago.

Bloomberg donated $315M to Johns Hopkins a year or so back, that's the single biggest donation. If you add up multiple donations over time from the same people there are a few with larger sums than Ross's $300M but it's definitely in the Top 10 - possibly Top 5.

I know this may go against the gist of a college football board but I am a lot more impressed when donations like this go towards academics than athletics. Let's just say the Bloomberg $315M donation to Johns Hopkins will do more good than the T Boone Pickens $300M to Okie State so they can bring their football program up to mid level range.

That isn't the case. It was Buffett's cousin's wife that is the main donor.
