The Baylor Fan (this will anger most)

I wouldn't even give them as much chance as I give Colorado this season. Sure they beat 3 North teams last season, squeaking out a win vs. Colorado. Put them in the north and they loose at least 2 out of 5 and lose to the three south division teams they face and they still finish #4 of 6 in the North. And that is would be a very generous prediction if they were in the North.
We'll never know one way or another, but they were 3-0 against the North(matching or beating every other North team except Nebraska). Until a North team goes 3-0 against the South, there isn't much room to talk. However, I see the North becoming stronger in the near future and Baylor still being Baylor and probably clinging to last season as the highlight of their Big 12 existance.

look, you guys can hate Baylor or laugh at them, but we had a tough time beating them a couple years ago and they are recruiting better athletes down there. they will be fielding better teams soon and although many teams in the north may be able to beat them now, in 2-3 years that may change! they are just another in the long line of Texas schools with athletes in their backyard and a strong fan following.

i won't predict how much better they will be this year, but they will be improved and could scare/upset some folks.

None of you guys get it. It says that Baylor is the "Best North team in the South" not the best team in the North. What this guy is saying is that the North is so weak, Baylor would factor into winning that Division, but they are the bottom dweller in the South.

Which is completely not true. Baylor would not sniff Missouri's shoes, much less Nebraska's. They're on the rise (you know who else is? Kansas!), but it's hardly like you can class the Big 12 as South-North, where all the north teams are worse than all the south teams. Maybe Baylor wouldn't be dwelling in the cellar of the North, but you can be sure they would be 4-6 material.

I still don't think Baylor will ever crack the top 6 in the Big 12. Those once cellar dwellers i.e. Baylor, KU, OSU, ISU, have had their moments. I just don't think any of those teams will ever be BIG 12 title contenders. Maybe OSU. but they will be the teams that just cant get over the hump and may ruin the Big 12 Champ hopes for a few teams along the way. These teams won't get over the hump because of all of the competition for recruiting. ISU gets the leftovers of us and Iowa, KU competes with Missouri, KSU, us, and OU. Baylor and OSU have to compete with all of the Texas schools, OU, and anyone else in the nation that comes down to Texas to pick up recruits. I would love to see these teams dominate their non conference games and bowl games to make the Big 12 as a whole look respectable. THose teams won't ever get over the hump.

I agree but NU or MU would likely be fighting it out for 3rd in the South, with a real shot a finishing below OSU, A&M, and Tech.

I actually think that Baylor is improving. Now that doesn't mean that I think they would win the North or compete for the title, but I think that overall as a team they are getting better and will start competeting a lot harder than before.
