The Better America of our Dreams

I guess, I don't look at the name of the  tweeter name and I sure don't click on the name to find out more about their tweeting history.  Who cares, it is a car commercial.  I watched it and it did not seem left/right leaning to me, it seemed like it was trying to get me to buy a f#&%ing truck.

I never said the commercial leaned left or right. But before you could watch that video, you were supposed to read why the X man thought it was an important moment in the culture wars. He thought it was important enough to frame it that way. Devo thought is was important enough to include, although you could get a non-partisan version of the ad at the top of any :05 Google search.

Before I accused the tweeter of having an agenda, I did a quick search to see if he had an agenda. He does.

Again, nice commercial. Stupid analysis. Don't know why he felt the need to go there. Like you said, it's just a car commercial.

It's a great commercial. I didn't know it had a five minute directors cut, but just found it by Googling Chevy Holiday Commercial.

Point was, this is the The Better America of our Dreams thread, where we get to enjoy nice things without partisan agendas. You attached it to a post from an X influencer who framed it in culture war language, as he does with all his posts, which was needless and kinda silly. As mentioned, it was easy to find the standalone video.
$10 says the guy who made the "X" voted for the guy who's whole identity is "cynical destruction"...

Are you talking about the Presidential candidate who said "the American Dream is dead" and described the country as "American carnage" in his inaugural address?

Take that over to the Republican Utopia thread. This one here is for straight up pleasantness.

My bad….but yeah, you know who I’m talkin’ bout!

Um...go ahead and scroll backwards a few pages. Maybe you can apply the same standards to other posts.

Looks like I didn't respond to a couple of Archy and Big Red Buster's semi-recent partisan posts, but in the 6 year history of this thread I've certainly wondered aloud why posters were using the Better America of Our Dreams for partisan beefs that already have more relevant threads.

I also thought Paul Anleitner's introduction of the clip was just silly enough to warrant comment.
