I stopped reading when somebody said Nebraska wouldn't struggle in the SEC.

Nebraska has not played well in several games this year. Play like we did against Northwestern or Purdue, two of the worst power 5 teams in the country, we easily lose against most teams in that conference. Posters here seem to have a lot of faith in a team that hasn't won anything for 15 years.

Unless Nebraska can prove themselves next week, we're simply a product of our schedule.

C'mon man, the teams there are better. It's time to stop with this.

Well, maybe we should join the SEC East, sweep our schedule (as they are a weaker division) while getting that SEC brand.

Why'd you delete the rest of your post? You were spot on with the recruiting if we were to join the SEC

Yeah, my bad. I was making a grammatical change, and must have deleted the paragraph.
Anyway, my point (as you already read) was that our recruiting could easily be thought to improve if we were in the SEC, given we would have that brand name. As a result, our team talent would improve, and we could be that much more competitive.

If Nebraska were in the SEC, this would not be the team we put on the field. Like Thanks_Tom said before he edited his post, recruiting in the southeast would be much easier if we were in the SEC. That's the conference where most of the highly ranked players want to play. Is it not?

Now if were talking about this Nebraska team we have playing in the B1G would struggle with an SEC schedule, probably, yes. But like I said, this wouldn't be the team we have if we were in the SEC.

Did you expect #3 Auburn to loss to an unranked team (a team with only one other in conference win which came in a field goal in OT against Arkansas, with zero conference wins)? It make not sense to write off Nebraska unt you see them play the games.

Maybe. I don't think the roster would be dramatically different because of the conference logo. It's hard to convince guys to come to a cold weather state if they have offers from LSU, Alabama, Auburn and Florida State like all elite players do down there.
It would help by landing an additional kid or two each year, but we wouldn't compete with the top programs down there, but that's just my opinion.

Can't believe Im saying this, but I actually agree with Polo. If, hypothetically speaking, this years B1G Nebraska team were in the SEC, we would probably be like LSU this year. Have some close games but lose (LSU/Alabama), be blown out a time or two (LSU/Miss St.) and have one or two upset wins (LSU/Ole Miss). Probably end up 3-5 or 4-4 in the league. This is going through an entire SEC schedule.

Now IF we were to go 4-0 the rest of the way and make the playoffs, we would have what, 2-3 weeks between CCG and playoff game to prepare and get healthy. If we played Miss St. and had 3 weeks to prepare, anything could happen. A lot easier to prepare for one SEC team than eight.
