This particular poll seem recall foreign born folks responding to this poll as moving in the direction of the GOP.   And rightly so!

Most of if not almost all of what people are saying is “Project 25” is normal Republican wish lists of governance.

Deport those here illegally, have them come back through the legal process

low taxes

getting rid of Department of Education (goes back to Reagan days though I admit I didn’t  think it would  happen) 

Unfortunately the GOP has also decided to try and pass a bill that looks to add debt to the government on a long term basis.  Not cool as soon the debt will be one of the bigger national security issues the country faces.

Well that's an adorable selection of five bullet points out the 900 page document. 

It's true that some of this has been on the wish list of our more rightwing Republicans for years, but they were often thwarted by the checks and balances of the Constitution and other bullwarks of Democracy. What makes Project 2025 so fresh and exciting is the actionable blueprint for bypassing checks and balances, systemically empowering Republican minorities on both the federal and local level, and giving the executive branch unprecedented control as part of an authoritarian worldview. All of it contingent on Donald Trump being President. Anyone who thought he wouldn't actually follow the playbook has been proven wrong, often on an hourly basis. 

You left off the prescribed rollback on civil rights for minorities, women, and the LGBT community, and the widescale replacement of nonpartisan experts with inexperienced presidential loyalists. Those may on the "normal" Republican wish list of governance but maybe that's something decent people wouldn't consider normal.

Oh I don’t know.   Those same decent people consider rioting against ice  in favor  of 118 criminals with terrible rap sheets in LA from being picked up and sent packing.    Maybe those “decent people’s” version of. Normal isn’t very normal.   Just saying.

Exactly. The ICE riots are designed for people who desperately need a blanket false equivalency for all the indecent s#!t their votes have unleashed. 

Also, not surprisingly, your parroted claim that they're simply targeting known criminals with terrible rap sheets simply isn't true. Try expanding your news sources. Meanwhile me and everyone else supports the deportation of proven criminals via due process and due diligence.

Does rolling back civil rights protections, investigations, and curricula count? I predict you'll have yet another semantic dodge for this, but it's hard to imagine minorities, women, and LGBT feeling safe under Trump based on what he's already done and what Project 2025 has outlined.

But yes, as of today everyone is still allowed to use the same drinking fountain. Then again, many pregnant women wanting to practice body autonomy have already lost that right. All told it's a bad look for a party that likes to screech "freedom."

There is of course no evidence that Democrats are hungry for a Mitt Romney to call himself a Democrat and beat the more right wing Republican, an election he could easily lose because that's not what Democrats are hungry for at all.
