The Depth Chart is Out

I can't believe Octavien lost his spot to Ruud. Hopefully this means there is nothing wrong with Octavien, but that Ruud has just done better.

Hopefully these guys will surprise us. I know Jones is in his first year, but I think he will do good this year. I have no worries about Grix, even with his height, or lack there of. Our safeties have experience in the defensive backfield, though Green at CB. Our backups is where I worry though. Still, with the front seven being as good as it is, that helps a little with the pressure on the qb's.

Spain and Rudd are the two suprises for me, but Cally gave the impression in the press conference that they may erase a hole in the paper with all the changes and flip flops this year. The first couple of games should define the starters a little better. Only four more day! :thumbs

I remember a quote from Calli once where he said that the depth chart can change every day, so this thing is definately not set in stone.

there were no surprises as far s i can see regarding the running backs.....cally kept saying they were almost equal.....and he was true to his word.....the thing that i love is wilson on kick off returns........hot damn, this is gonna be fun to watch!

The big surprise for me was Ruud. I think they will use a 3-4 this year sometimes, just so they can have all four of the lb's on the field at the same time.

Also remember that Callahan doesn't normally release an updated depth chart, so this will probally be the only one that we see for awhile.

If they were to use a 3-4, that would most likely bring in Philip Dillard at one of the inside linebacker positions. Ruud and Octavien are both Weakside. That said, I love our linebacking depth and hope both see significant time.

And now we can go back to shouting "Ruuuuud"!
