So what??? If a school wants to make their field look absolutely stupid with that on it....why should the NCAA even care? 100 years ago when all the fields looked like NDs now, should the NCAA banned all names in the end zones or color?

This stupid rule reminds me of a new rule in Nebraska HS volleyball. In volleyball, the libero is required to wear a different colored jersey. Some schools and liberos were getting stylish with their jerseys and they looked pretty cool. It took nothing away from the game or their performance. The NSAA decided that they needed to put a stop to that so they put strict rules in on exactly what the libero jersey must be. Gee....a tie die jersey must have just been destroying the game.

Some people just think their jobs are to make rules. If they aren't making a new rule, they aren't doing their job. It's ridiculous.

I hear ya. It's a copout. Plain and simple. No different than government. They ain got the balls or ambition to tackle real issues so they waste time and money dealing with irrelevant garbage like this. It's an illusion. "look over here, over here. looky looky" while theyre letting other crap slide by on the other end.

You're definitely right IMO

And yet, these are ok...

What's next? Axe the tunnel walk? Ban tailgating? Sanctions on Nebraska for illegal recruiting practices for letting Jack participate in the tunnel walk and spring game? Where does it stop? Are they trying to stay ahead of the curve and just make football un-fun BEFORE it goes to two-hand touch?

have they given a reason for this?

i still cannot get over the fact that we got in trouble for books, yet unc and, to date, miami go unscathed.

it comes down to this. what is it doing for the actual game? nothing. get it off there.

oh, but what about the colored fields you ask? well i'm pretty sure that grass fields are green. the field has to be A color. if you are going to remake grass, you have to make it SOME color. Why would they say that you HAVE to imitate the color of grass?

different colored endzones are actually an innovation. helping players see where the endzone is.

So, I guess the logo in middle of the field needs to go too. It doesn't do anything for the actual game.

different colored endzones are actually an innovation. helping players see where the endzone is.

You're really sticking with that answer?

Did you really just disagree with yourself by agreeing with yourself.

That's impressive. I commend you sir. :worship

I cant legitimately disagree with you that it's pointless and does nothing for the game itself. But be honest in answering this. Does or doesn't the NCAA have far more important things to worry about in collegiate athletics.

Holy cow. Just a few months ago they let Miami completely off the hook for botching an investigation that literally shouldve buried the Miami football program (deservedly so I'll add), but yet they had no problem dropping the hammer on USC and Ohio St for the transgressions of 1 and few. This is my point in this whole deal. The NCAA is a waste. They are mindless hooligans making very important decisions and are obviously too chicken sh#t to use the common sense necessary to tackle important issues and do the right thing.
