I hate the "feels like" temp

If it feels like 105...than it is 105.  I know the weather nerds will freak out but that is how it should be.  Also, aren't we in a time where we respect feelings.  So if the temp "feels like" 105...we need to respect that.

Heat index matters in this case because when it gets high enough human beings can no longer survive, which due to humidity happens at lower measured temps because the body cannot cool itself through evaporation of sweat. So in this case it's more about survivability than "feels like".

Oh for sure.  I was just referring to the "feels like" bit that weather men love.

That kind of heat, that is where you walk outside and it hits you, like, it feels like the heat hit you.

The NOAA data shows the global average temperature climbed to an unprecedented 17.23°C (63.02°F) on Thursday.

This was 1.02°C (1.8°F) above the average for the date, and an increase from the previous record-holder of 17.18°C (62.9°F) set just one day before.

The period from July 3 through 6 is now the hottest four days on record globally.

Democrats and liberal pundits are such climate doomers.

They show data and click bait headlines that show the number of heat deaths have increased 250% in just 3 years, and we're only halfway through summer, they could be spinning this positively that this is going to be the coolest and probably the smallest amount of heat deaths Arizona will experience for the rest of our lives (and the lives of our kids, grand kids, great grand kids....).

The entire rhetoric around climate change needs to change. 

 
Imagine being so smug that you think you know more than the overwhelming majority of scientists who have spent their entire careers in the field of climatology.  You know the types that were far and away smarter and dedicated than everyone else.  Then because you just have to own the libs above all other things in life you ignore all data and even real life, day to day observations.  It's almost like you'd have to be paid to be that far out there.

Who's right, this guy or 98% of scientists? This guy is... not even close to being correct. This guy's entire schtick is that we can out innovate climate change by engineering more heat tolerant food, by engineering stronger builds so they don't have to be rebuilt when slapped by a Hurricane. 

This guy is so completely pathetic, trying to up his Twitter engagement by arguing against what is easily one of the most agreed upon and EASILY verifiable things in science.

 




Here is a link to the full paper. Only a complete dumbs#!t would think they were trying to trick anyone with that chart after reading only a portion of this. They were not focused on either heat or cold being worse than the other. It’s much easier to compare volumes by country for heat deaths when using an axis with a smaller maximum. This is how people create charts where I work all the time, it’s normal and the topics are non-controversial. It’s to make it easier to view the data.

It’s pretty disgusting that a moron can try to minimize a study like this with one tweet and that many additional dupes fall for it.

If your schtick is to believe any of the peer reviewed data (it’s not his which you don’t seem to understand) then point it out and post refutation to it.    Since it’s so EASY, you should be able to do it quickly.    Looking forward to what you have to show.
