The Fighting Erstads at the Purple Kitties in Manhattan, KS

This team does not show the same mental toughness as their coach. It's never just one error or one guy struggling at the plate. As soon as one man fails, the rest of the team crumbles. It's time one of these seniors steps up and says enough is enough, we need a play and I'm going to make it.

Giving free bases to the leadoff man is an easy way to dig yourself a hole. 4 straight innings, either a walk or a HBP to start the inning. Not all is lost, as these were given by two freshmen (Chesnut and Howell) and the sophomore Hoppes. Hopefully they'll get better with age.

Full disclosure--I haven't had a chance to watch the game yet due to a minor medical issue with my kiddo last night. Will watch off of the DVR tonight.

From the play-by-play posts, it appears you're correct. And this is something we've collectively said for a while now.

Question: Is it even feasible to look at playing the younger players where we can put them in, or have we crossed the proverbial Rubicon by maintaining the status quo with the start of conference play?
