Great, Just Great, now that Kenny doesnt have all that extra padding in his helmet he will get a concussion the first play of the first game and be out for the season!

Nebraska senior wide receiver Kenny Bell said he didn't mean to cause a major uproar when he tweeted earlier this summer that he cut his patented afro. Turns out, Bell was just joking.


“It’s a slow time of year," Bell said in an interview on Sharp and Benning in the Morning on Wednesday. "I was in Jamaica with my family and I had pulled my hair back into a ponytail and we were just messing around at the pool, and I was with my brother, and said ‘man, it would be funny to say I cut my hair.’

"I didn’t mean it to upset anybody. I kind of got people riled up and that wasn’t my intention. We were just trying to have some fun."

Personally, I think Kenny did this with the intention of riling up the fans. Not in a way to entertain himself (although I'm sure that was part of it), but more in order to make a mockery out of the local media. But really, who knows?

I don't think it was intended to mock local media. If anything, they were in on the joke.

Seems more than anything like a bit of fun, along with Bo's tweets this offseason.



I have removed a number of posts from this thread. The tangent was started before the "be excellent to each other campaign" started, so most of these aren't getting any attention, just moved.

Posts that went directly after a player are being looked at. Posts that went directly after another member are being looked at.

Either remain on the specific topic of Kenny Bell's afro and/or its departure/miraculous return or start another thread. Or, if necessary, don't say anything at all.

It got me, and I thought was a pretty successful practical joke. It mostly amused me, but some of the reactions were a little overboard I think.

I guess I never realized so many people were concerned with this kids hair. We really need more things to focus our attention on in Nebraska. Glad to see other Husker sports doing well. For a long time it was corn or Husker football were the only two topics to discuss. At least now we have Kenny Bells hair to talk about.......

 
I agree, being concerned with Kenny Bell's hair is a waste of time. However, being concerned with people being concerned with Kenny Bell's hair is time well spent, indeed.

It's the offseason, so... meh? I'd rather talk about a fro than argue for the millionth time over how horrible/awesome the team truly is.
