that changed how we played the whole game. I think that we pound the ball more if that doesn't happen. if he holds on to that and we punt 2 plays later I doint think they score

 
That was kinda like the safety the Blackshirts got on CU. Definitely a game changer, of course that is predicated on making some better offensive plays. I think the other game difference was the astute way the OU coaches passed to Grix's side of the field consistently and drove 99 yards. OUch.

 
not to make more excuses, but if we get that safety (we were so close) they dont score that 3rd TD. even playing as crappy as we did, it was closer than the score showed

Turnovers in general killed us. In a game where NU couldn't make mistakes, we made a bunch.

I agree it changed the whole complection of the game.

If you noticed though they threw at Grixby all night and as usual he got torched.

I pray that I never ever have to watch him get abused by another team again.

 
Yep, we started out like a train wreck, which set the mood for the entire game. It flustered them, and they couldn't bounce back. I'm still not sure that wasn't a safety though.

 
It was a close call but it look on slo mo like he leaned just across the goal line. Maybe :)

Yeah he broke the plane of the goal line with the ball. The refs called it right. We were just a half step to late in getting to him.

 
I dont agree with the fumble being so critical. OU scored within 50 secs of the game. It's similar to a long kickoff return.

We got some momentum going in the second QTR and early third. Just didnt make enough plays, and they eventually did.

(But I will be clear to say I wasnt happy with the fumble).

 
his fumble was bad but it didnt kill us and it wasnt a safety what killed us was giving up 35 yards on 3rd and 10 from the 1 yard line.....pitiful...our offense squandered great field position the entire second half thats what killed us.

 
I think that the penalty on Huff to make it 3rd and long, Patrick to make it 3rd and long, and then Christensen to make it 3rd and long killed us even more. We had 3rd and short before they messed up and made them all into 3rd and long.

Of course the INTs were big, but these penalties all happened when we were driving...at least Huff and Patrick's penalties.

 
the thing that i saw that really hurt us just in the momentum stand point was when their player went down after the punt after we stopped them with a 3 and out.

the crowd was into it and the defense was as well... it was only time before the offense went down the field right there... that injury kind of quieted down the crowd and cooled down the offense and i think that was big in the first half.

 
I was sitting in row 29 in the south stadium, right on the 15 yard line. I got a much-too-close view of that fumble, and right when it happened, my stomach sank down to my testicles.
