The Key to Winning Out

The D seemed to take a big step forward in this game. A top ten team Mich isn't but our D tackled much better, the blitz package worked very well and for once it appears we had DTs that played aggressively - not just taking up space. This D performance plus the maturing of TA gives me more hope going into the final 3 games - the possibility to win out. The 2 previous weeks performances were less hopeful. I think now, if the D plays like this again, the KEY is in Beck's hand (or head). I'm taking the pressure off of our DC and placing it on the OC - Beck needs to call a game that TA can work with. Stop being cute, utilize TA's ability to run the option - which I think he does a good job at. Don't do 3 passes in a row down field etc. I was bummed after Min and NW (I felt we lucked into that win) but the D very clearly showed the kind of improvement that could carry us the rest of the way. We aren't playing Bama, FSU - so I think we can make it happen.

What say you - I'm I off base in saying Beck's game mgmt/play calling is now the key to winning out or do I exaggerate the improvement of the D? If you read my posts, I'm not a

drinker - but I do want to believe we can get this done.

Beck did a much better job against Michigan play calling wise. If you can play to Tommys strengths we can do plenty to score and not give the ball away.

The key is our O line. Can the staff overcome the injuries there so we can put enough points on the board so our defense can remain aggressive.

very true - those OL injuries are major. Against MSU, we need a makeshift line make some room for AA and the option.

The key to winning out is focus and discipline. IF we beat MSU, the only way we lose a game after that is by losing our focus and not being ready to play. That said, the key to the MSU game is dominating the trenches on both sides of the ball and NOT letting MSUs defense SCORE.

Mistakes are the key eliminate them and we can win any or all of the remaining games. The biggest problem we have is the mounting injuries it may catch up to us this week. MSU has a good D line and our O line is in tough shape with 2 key injuries.
