The Kick

When i saw the kick.. i thought you meant the field goal, which got me thinking.

Does anyone else hate this "icing" the kicker trend? when they were setting up for the field goal, everything seemed so hectic and rushed. i kept thinking to myself, "don't do it bo". but of course, he called the time out, gave the other team more time to set up. and the rest is history.

Icing the kicker sucks.

Would you like to clarify this? Accusing a player of taking a bribe or making wagers on games even in a posting is serious business. Don't downplay it either, people have been sued for far less.

I think your sarcasm detector is in need of new batteries.

I don't blame Kunalic. He is a great kicker and has had a great impact on this football teams success. One bad play ? It happens.

If you want to blame a kicker for something blame the inconsistent Byron Bennett for costing us the National Championship in 1993.. This guy was iffy from inside 25!!! :box

Just kidding

kind of.

IMO, I agree that it looks as if he was just trying to get the ball into the endzone and tried too hard. You can see him pull his leg drstically across his body.

Yes, this was the MAJOR play on the final drive that set Texas up for the fg. And, yes, I was upset with the kick like most/all Husker fans. But, when my 9 yr old son said "the dumb kicker LOST us the game", I found myself explaining to him that Adi didn't lose the game for NU.

As a coach, I have always told my teams that you never lose a game because of "bad luck". You can win a game because of "good luck" (Texas getting 1 more sec. , kick out of bounds, etc)..........but you never lose a game because of "bad luck".

If you make enough other positive plays throughout the game, you take "luck" out of the equation. As some one stated, 1 more first down, 1 td, on and on and on......it doesn't come down to the kick.

No one feels worse than Adi, and he has a TREMENDOUS record as a kicker. I for one will continue to cheer him one and my daughter will be one that will have her shoe off everytime he kicks off in San Diego.

It's cumulative of thing of why Nebraska lost. I would blame the offense more then I would of one guy kicking the ball out of bounds. To not score on the 10 yard line hurt Nebraska more then anything else IMO.

Things happen and all that stuff so I don't blame Adi anymore then Ohanlon was to blame for the loss in V-Tech game. chuckleshuffle
