The late great Johnny Carson and his Cornhusker roots

I miss Johnny Carson. Lots of memories watching his show as a child. Not only was he a Hollywood Icon, but a Nebraska Icon as well.

This clip is from 1993 when Carson was honored by President Clinton during the annual Kennedy Center Honors. Pay attention to 0:56 mark.

As a joke, I always wanted to go to his show in the audience. Pass a note to him saying my mother knew him from the "rolling plains of Nebraska" If they brought a mic up the audience the conversation might be:

JC: "So, what's your name"

Me: "Bud"

JC: "Your mom knew me from Norfolk?"

Me: "Yes, when you were in high school, she was younger than you"

JC: "Oh, what was her name?"

Me: "Gina Statutoria. My name is Bud Carson. . . . dad."

One of his legendary mythical characters he told stories about when he was young was the under-aged Gina Statutoria

I ended up living a block away from his childhood Norfolk house on 10th.
