Joseph has shown he is not up for the task. He has failed to make situational adjustments as the opponent changed their approach. He has been way too lenient with Whipple.

Yup, and that’s fine. But he is clearly not seeing it. A coach with this much experience should recognize it. Not proving anything by keeping him out there

Our players lack the stamina of Huskers of the past.  D and O.  They get beaten down man to man on most plays as the game wears on.

So you bench Purdy to play Smothers. Who hasn't shown anything. Smothers does nothing. So you bench Smothers for Purdy.

You're not solving anything playing Smothers.

I’ll take what I saw from smothers last year against Iowa over every single instance of purdy on display. To be clear, I’m not saying Smothers is the second coming of crouch but he’s at least more decisive in the run game and had equally if not slightly better arm

Man the play calling has been really bad. Haven't really stuck with the run. No sweeps, no quick screens no tempo. Just bad overall.
