***The Nebraska Defense - Blackshirts 2020***

Henrich really impressing again tonight with his best game as a Husker.  Thought our defense played well again tonight minus a few plays.  Gave up 2 touchdowns to a team averaging a lot more.  Even though I still think Nelson has a tendency to not keep the edge he's been playing better and thought he had a good game tonight too.

Really just one touchdown.  Kept Rutgers to FGs on the first two scores to keep the game within reach even though the offense was trying to give it away.

He whiffed on the only offensive TD that Rutgers had, but the future is definitely bright for Henrich.

Great point!  The return happened so fast I forgot it being a special teams TD and not a defensively allowed score.  I also blame the devils lettuce lol.

I've got to hand it to Chinander and the rest of the def coaches as well.  Not only has the defense looked and played better as a whole this season we've also seen guys develop as well which is crucial and gives me hope for next year.  Nice job Chin and co.  Def the players too.

Defense kept in the games this year (not OSU) and improved continually throughout the year.  I was not a Chin fan to start the year, but with a few pieces this year he improved across the board. Kudos to the whole D staff . IMHO, improvement at all 3 levels.  Really hoping some of the seniors stay around next year.  Continual improvement and we won't be just a "bend don't break" defense, but one that can break up an O.....

Read an article on this.  IIRC, they average start was on our 41 for these drives.....No bueno.  One first down and a lot of teams were in FG range.  Info articles like this (and others calling out or ST play) really show one area that even going from 113th to top 50-60 would probably see us win those 7 point ir less games......This with no QB changes, edge rusher or coaching changes....ST....the missing 3rd phase of our game in year 3....Hopefully this is a priority in the off season.

The defense was obviously stout.

Here's more on field position data, with 2nd and 8 yards to go or less, within the 35 yard lines....During the last 10 mins of the 1st and 3rd quarters...  it's truly amazing...
