Boy you're kinda sensitive today.  I would like to see this crying you speak of though, pretty sure I took that mostly in stride and even said I didn't want people to get banned or sent on vacation.  I'm sure you could share these messages of me crying to you with everyone, you have my permission.

Edit: I tried finding the old PM's myself to no avail, so hopefully knapp has them still.

Just getting up to speed here.

I did not get the memo that we weren’t supposed to use the old joke about knapp being older than dirt. I figure it’s still fair game for me though since I know I am older than knapp so, when I do it, it’s in a self deprecating fashion and I only do it because it’s actually kind of stupid for me to use it. I would hope, considering the source, that it wouldn’t bother knapp.

And what the hell has happened these last few weeks as far as the offending posts thread? After reviewing the last dozen posts in there I didn’t really find any of them very offensive at all. Pretty mild stuff. Is somebody just bored and needing something to moderate or are we trying to completely cleanse all discussion? The closest thing to maybe actually being offensive was Landlord’s “you’re full of sh#t” comment. 3 or 4 years ago that would’ve been the nicest thing somebody said  :lol:  Not saying we need to revert to those days but dang.  And when somebody is obviously full of sh#t, what are we to do?  :stir   Actually I know the answer......take it to the shed.

Remember how great Cheers was? Funny show. But if you'd watched it over and over and over and over for ten years, at some point it'd just not be funny anymore, right? 

That's all this is. I tried PMing some people a couple years ago, then I asked in the threads a couple times, and finally I've just asked the Mods to move the posts and they've been kind enough to oblige me.

You're right, it's not as funny as it used to be. But I still get a little chuckle considering half the people who do it are older than you. I think most of them realize that....maybe not. It's like calling the fat guy Slim.

But it's not funny when GSG does it. He's just a big meanie head.

I think maybe the reason for this is there used to be multiple threads where Mods would dump stuff.  Back in the day there was a secret dumpster thread where we put a lot of the stuff that is ending up in Offending Posts. I think there was some discussion about leaving them available to the public for entertainment value, but that would have been with an entirely different Mod team, so who knows.

See, I think there is still some humor it, as long as people aren't doing, daily. But, I get why you would rather it die out. It was kinda of fun, though. :thumbs

This place became pretty lame. Some of the guys banned were over the top and deserved it but the old Mod crew got so damn sensitive they banned people who were slightly negative and now most people dont step over the line.

Now things only get moved here when someone who is friends with the mods or a former mod gets butt hurt about a joke that hurt their feelings.

There's been no intentional change in the type of content being dropped in there now versus a year ago.

More often than not, things get moved because somebody reported it and a moderator felt it didn't need to stay in the main forum.

In the case of @ScottyIce going after @StPaulHusker in a status update - I did see that and moved it in case it became a problem. We don't need people picking fights in status updates, regardless of whether or not anyone was offended by it.

Maybe I'm just lazy but I do tend to move posts that aren't necessarily "Offending" there just because they don't need to be where they're originally posted for one reason or another and that's a good place to dump them.  Usually they don't necessarily break any rules but they are toeing the line closely enough that it's a way to let people know that we probably don't need that kind of stuff without giving out warnings and such.

It would probably be more precise to have a "Unnecessary Posts" thread or something like that.
