I think that maybe more Trump supporters might post more here if not for the vitriol being spouted by some of the posters ( making chimis). Many people want a friendly discussion not one where many Trump haters will pile on with such obvious disdain. 

Let me try this again.

What does the bold mean? That piling on with obvious disdain is a bad thing? And that people who do this are in the wrong?

Because if this is actually what's being alleged with a straight face, how does the person complaining about this support Trump, or anything about his administration?

THE BOLD IS ALL TRUMP DOES.  It's what his Press Secretary does. It's what his cabinet members do. 

How can you lodge this as a complaint and expect to be taken seriously?

You seriously don't have a MAJOR problem with the President meeting with a brutal dictator who he is accused of colluding with to conspire against the United States secretly, then coming out afterwards as best friends and throwing every intelligence agency in the US under the bus and trying to discredit everything they have reported.

This is the same country that several of this President's campaign members have plead GUILTY of "conspiring against the US" with.

Obama and Hillary made tremendous efforts to foster a good relationship with Russia. Remember the Reset button fiasco? Or how about Obama mocking Romney for suggesting Russia was a threat?

So when did the transition take place between the US needing a good relationship with Russia and bending over backwards to foster one to Russia being a mean nasty horrible no-good enemy and Putin being a bug bad meanie who needs to be opposed at all costs?

When Putin went full in on attempting to subvert Western democracy. When Putin invaded Ukraine/the Crimea.  When Putin colluded with Trump to steal the election. When Putin had enough leverage with a sitting American president to force a private meeting that American intelligence services STILL don't know the contents/results of.

Honest question - how can any of this be OK?

I have no problem with trying to improve relations with anyone.  Remember when Republicans were aghast and outraged that Obama would even think about trying to talk to North Korea and Iran???  OMG....that was pathetic that he would even think about doing such a thing...right???

There is a HUGE difference here though in the details.  You're outraged that Obama gave Iran money (that really was their money to begin with) and think it's perfectly fine for a President to side with a dictator and against his own intelligence community.  This same dictator who has been shown to have attacked our elections (gee, who did that benefit) and continues to do so to benefit...whom shall we say????  Meanwhile, that significant person who that attacking is benefiting is turning a blind eye to it and befriending (in private) the person who is doing it???
 

My Independent mind is telling me that if the tables were turned, you would be outraged that a Democratic President was doing this.

did you read the article?  there was a chance that the tribunal could have said we owed the $10 bil iran was demanding instead of the $1.5  bil we ended up settling for.  maybe that would have been a better deal?

I found his performance in Helsinki to be pretty baffling as well. In the scheme of things it’s a minor deal however.

I found the way Obama bowed down to the mullahs and delivered a planeload of cash to the world’s worst terrorist state to be far meful and cowardly. As was the way he left our guys hung out to dry in Benghazi. As was the way he puffed out his chest about a red line in Syria and then tucked tail and ran when Assad called his bluff.

So it's a minor thing to throw our intelligence agencies under the bus and praise a former KGB spy and current dictator on the world stage? 

And just as I suspected. Some whataboutism based on half truths and a "Benghazi" reference.

Members of TRUMP'S CAMPAIGN have plead GUILTY of conspiring against the US.

That's not some left wing conspiracy.  That's a matter of public legal record.

Who do you think they were comprising with and to benefit whom?  Who did Trump think he needed to have a private meeting with only to come out looking like they were going to get married?  

Trump campaigned on supporting law enforcement and then he throws the entire intelligence community completely in the trash for someone who is currently attacking the US????  And, who is benefiting from that attacking????

The only reason someone in this country wouldn't have their eyes wide open to this is if they are in support of the President and choose to have blinders on.

The argument being advanced here is that Trump is some sort of unique threat to our country. 

The logical retort to that is to show that his actions aren’t all that unusual and actually pale in comparison to those of some of his predecessors.

The predictable response to that by some here is some incoherent blathering about “whataboutism.” If the actions of other leaders are relevant to the conversation, it makes sense to talk about them. Given Obama’s trainwreck of a Presidency, it’s unsurprising you’d rather his failures not be discussed.
