Well it proved that even against a terrible defense the West Coast offense is not working here.Yeah, cuz A&M beating Nebraska this year with that type of option proves a lot. Oh wait...it just proves Nebraska sucks.

No I mean the one that the only reason we won 10 games that year was because of one man Eric Crouch..............maybe you've heard of him???You mean the one that won five national championships? There is a difference between just a plain option and one that has been changed to include more passing. The option we used to run was not good, but that could have been the coach as well. (Solich)Most spreads in college run the option <_<I personally don't want to see it here again, but that has always been my feeling on it. I like the spread offense. I HATE the WCO..............

Alright, I'll give you that, lol. I was referring to aspects of the game involving the option.Well it proved that even against a terrible defense the West Coast offense is not working here.Yeah, cuz A&M beating Nebraska this year with that type of option proves a lot. But even that slight chance of the QB running that read option, creates one more additional threat that the DC and players have to scheme against during the week in preperation.are you trying to say that the option works? the option apparently works against an ill-prepared, no-adjustment, absolutely horrendous defense.
last time i checked, of the good teams, only west virginia really plays true spread option. everyone else throws 45 times a game, and the qb runs are always "option" hb dive or qb keep.
the option as you knewit, is dead.
I just don't think it's the offense to run anymore. Just like Solich the option is not going to come back to NU. :dunnoBut even that slight chance of the QB running that read option, creates one more additional threat that the DC and players have to scheme against during the weak in preperation.are you trying to say that the option works? the option apparently works against an ill-prepared, no-adjustment, absolutely horrendous defense.

Which basically means nothing when you look at who it beat.Option beat us didn't it??

I wouldn't mind seeing a version of the spread option come here, with the ability to go into a power set and pound it up the gut when needed.I just don't think it's the offense to run anymore. That was the problem with that team. No real threats on offense besides Eric..................oh what could have been! :angry:Who?No I mean the one that the only reason we won 10 games that year was because of one man Eric Crouch..............maybe you've heard of him???You mean the one that won five national championships? There is a difference between just a plain option and one that has been changed to include more passing. Imagine how well it would have worked with a running back to match him.
Now that's the offense I see Nebraska having. Not alot of finesse, but enough to keep the opposing defense off balance. Then when they are back on their heels running right down their throats with Castille and Helu. :clapI wouldn't mind seeing a version of the spread option come here, with the ability to go into a power set and pound it up the gut when needed.I just don't think it's the offense to run anymore. When I think of option I get this vision of the triple option or nothing, but running and I just don't think that will get it done anymore. Against a team that is having a horrible season like the Huskers it will work, but not against teams like the ones in the Top 10? The spread I can see coming in here.No I don't think you'll see the Solich option come back.I just don't think it's the offense to run anymore.
