The Pick 6

Missed the game yesterday but just saw the pick 6 for the first time. Going to go ahead and say this isn't exactly the form you're looking for when throwing a football:

That's because Tommy doesn't know how to throw a ball away. So when something goes wrong he either takes a bad sack, or throws a bad interception. Which is why you can't have a system that relies on the pass with him. Which I've pointed out before, isn't his fault he was recruited to run a spread option system

That's quality right there. I know it is not how it happened, but the screen capture makes it look like TA went almost horizontal matrix style and the proceeded to uncork a lazer up the sideline to the defenseive player, whose foot is just entering the frame in the upper left.

I was actually amused when, immediately after the play, the camera showed the reaction of a distraught fan wearing a Taylor Martinez jersey.

In my limited opinion, you can tell he is just reacting a lot. Not really seeing the field but just focusing on one receiver or mentally clicking between options in rapid succession and then throwing at a friendly jersey that pops open in his field of view. I will say that it seems like he is also dodging alot of pressure on most plays when he drops back.

Typical of TA, instead of heaving one away later in the game, right at the end of the third quarter, he took a sack for a loss of 10, which turned a 37 or 38 yard field goal into a 48 yarder. Brown made it, but with Brown, anything beyond 40 is an adventure, so again, where is the coaching or where is TA's decision making in doing the right thing in the given situation?

TA didn't make the greatest decision on this play, but he hardly deserves to be mocked for it.
Not meant to be a mockery of him just pointing out the atrocious throwing form on this play. Not picking on him personally just criticizing something that can be fixed. If TM can make drastic improvement from Sophomore-Junior year in footwork why can't TA?

His feet got tangled with the OL on that play. That's why he is falling as he throws.

That's correct, Lewis got pushed back into him. But he's got to learn there are worse things that can and will happen than a sack.

Tie his shoes together and make him take a hit in the pocket. Sometimes you need to for the team. Other QBs do it every week. Even running QBs.
