The Republican Utopia

Hmmmm….i don’t believe they are thinking this through all the way.   Is it their position then, that they would like the US to bring its Navy fleet back to our borders and no longer help protect Europe?  Well, OK I guess.   Good luck if so.
apparently you didn't pay attention.  it is a private company that is refusing to sell the oil.   they are free to do that....right?

you know...that is exactly what MAGA has always wanted.   they don't want to be leaders of the free world.   they want to curl up in our own corner and pout about how badly the world treats us.

A private company that doesn’t seem to understand why those navy ships are there, and is calling for everyone else to follow their lead, right.  And what happens when no one provides fuel over there?  I think I’m  paying attention just fine.

You seem to be the expert on MAGA so I will defer to you.

You have a lot more blind confidence that Trump would even honor our NATO commitments than I do. If I were Norway/Europe at this point, I’d be planning on the US being of no help at all until Trump/MAGA is long gone.

Whatever your feelings are, not providing fuel will go along way towards the US Navy leaving sooner rather than later.

I guess I won’t dispute that. I just fail to see a significant difference between today or next week. If one private Norwegian company stopping the sale of fuel to our fleet is all it takes, then it is a pretty imminent eventuality anyway.

You know it’s getting bad when our government starts siding with countries like Russia, North Korea and other Russian aligned countries and many here in America would rather side with Ukraine, Canada, Norway and the rest of Europe. How long is that going to be viable in your “paying attention just fine” view?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but you’ve chosen the wrong side.

Yup, its a national security risk for them at this point. Cant trust the US anymore. France looks like they are taking lead for Europe so they dont need to rely on us anymore.

Yep. Trump has said he wants out of NATO and he’s doing everything else by the Project 2025 playbook so you’d have to be a fool to depend on the US. Smartly they’ve already recognized this and won’t be sharing intelligence, that they don’t want in Putin’s hands, with the Trump administration either. Doesn’t leave much of anybody else we can depend on either. Good job Trump.

lord knows that trump doesn't want to be leader of the free world.  he thinks much smaller than that.

But I haven’t said just one private company will do it.  I’ve asked if they understand what the end game is if their wishes get fulfilled and Europe doesn’t provide fuel to the Navy.

Yeah, you certainly aren’t paying attention if you believe the US is “siding with Russia”.  I see you’ve bought the talking points.   If that were true, the US wouldn’t be advocating for a mineral rights deal, wouldn’t have sent Missile Defense systems in 2018/2019 and advocate to shutdown Nordstream2 (of which Biden disagreed——maybe he was on Russia’s side I guess)

It’s my guess, that Trump really isn’t on any side and just wants a quick end to war so he can take credit for it.

As far as Ukraine itself goes, they deserve to fight as long as they wish and spend whatever resources they can get to defend themselves.   The question on the US side always is how much are we willing  to spend and for how long with nothing in return?  And secondly, what is the prospect of Ukraine gaining all of their territory back and at what cost?

It would be great if Ukraine can destroy Russia’s army and weaken that country further.   I’m of the opinion, if we keep giving money and weapons, there should be some guarantees for the American taxpayer to have access to raw materials we need at a reduced price in compensation.  Make it a more of a partnership.

Yeah, countries in Europe are doing a bang up job of not supporting the Russian economy.  #Putinspuppets 🙄
