The Republican Utopia

Looks like Edward jumped the gun with his initial tweet.   Shocker.
He reported what LAPD said. Then, he added more information as it came out.

I have no problem with his tweets on this.

You have a problem with someone who criticizes Trump. Shocker.

Don’t get me started on pop bottle rocket wars…
Oh yeah!

We had "mobil" water ballon wars driving around with our cars in small town SD.  I can still see my perfect toss into the back window of my friend's Chevy and the 4 guys (one guy per window - kind of like cannons on old ships)  watching the water explode inside.

Too late. I was just discussing pop bottle rocket wars this week with a bunch of mothers who just sadly shook their heads.

We created pop bottle rocket guns with electrical conduit pipe, corked the end and tightly wrapped a dish towel around the pipe to form a handle with heat protection.  Then we taped a 45 rpm record we didn't like around the pipe to form a shield so we could aim the bottle rocket without getting sparks in our faces.

But today when I go around shooting people with bottle rockets they look at me like I'm nuts!

Don't get me started on Polish Cannons.

Haha, that’s funny. We also would fashion elaborate bottle rocket guns from conduit or pipe or whatever also usually with a back spray shield and something for a handle.

I’ve probably shared this story here before but…..

One time we had two warring factions, about 5 guys per side. We chased one team down the street about a block and a half and they decided to take refuge inside one of their guy’s houses. As they were piling in the front door we were still shooting. One of the rockets went into the house and exploded on the wall. Large black star pattern from the explosion…..”exasperated exhale”another very upset mother. 😆

Is this what the news reported?  Or is he “just asking questions”

Is ICE now taking part in Hit and Runs when they accidentally pull over legal citizens by running into their vehicles, all attempting to find and deport undocumented immigrants? If so, this is horrific and illegal.

@Archy1221, are the guard rails still fully intact?
Backstory that Edward won’t tell you.

The incident took place at the Wilshire Federal Building in Los Angeles where Marines took charge of the mission to protect the building earlier on Friday, in a rare domestic use of U.S. troops after days of protests over immigration raids

Reuters images showed Marines apprehending the man, restraining his hands with zip ties and then handing him over to civilians from the Department of Homeland Security.
Asked about the incident, the U.S. military's Northern Command spokesperson said active duty forces "may temporarily detain an individual in specific circumstances."
"Any temporary detention ends immediately when the individual(s) can be safely transferred to the custody of appropriate civilian law enforcement personnel," a spokesperson said.

Speaking to reporters after he was released, the civilian identified himself as Marcos Leao, 27. Leao said he was an Army veteran on his way to an office of the Department of Veterans Affairs when he crossed a yellow tape boundary and was asked to stop.

Leao, who gained his U.S. citizenship through military service, said he was treated "very fairly."
"They're just doing their job," said Leao, who is of Angolan and Portuguese descent

The 200 Marines and more than 2,000 National Guard now deployed to Los Angeles are tasked with protecting federal property and federal personnel. They will be joined by an additional 500 Marines and 2,000 more National Guard soldiers.
This means that they will accompany ICE agents on raids, officials have said.
The troops are authorized to detain people who pose a threat to federal personnel or property, but only until police can arrest them. Military officials are not allowed to carry out arrests themselves.
