The return of EA Sports College Football

On another note.  Nebraska seems to be snubbed on a few categories.

Not on the top 25 toughest places to play

Not on the top 25 Defenses

These aren't snubs. Well maybe defense, but depends whether they believe Nebraska's defense will continue to be good in 2024. It's not like that's been the trend.

I don't know if it's a guarantee that we don't have a 90 - the list stops at top 100, not all 90+ overall players. But it wouldn't be surprising. Can't trust all of these screenshots (they might space overalls in Road to Glory to make you work your way up the depth chart), but this has Tommi Hill as an 89. If they rely a lot on PFF he's a good bet to be alone up there, but there are arguments for Hutmacher and Robinson to be at least similarly rated.

My biggest complaint (not having played it yet) is not being able to change ratings. You can edit ratings in Madden despite using real players, and I would imagine most players would be on board with it because they want to boost themselves and their buddies to what they believe their ratings are. Like I get locking down name/height/weight/birth place etc, but not having the ability to update ratings is a step backwards.

I have a few games against a buddy under my belt, and it's a lot of fun. I'm really impressed with the gameplay so far. I haven't jumped into a Dynasty yet, waiting for the rest of my buddies to get it, but I did spend some time in Road to Glory. I'm very impressed so far!

A friend is playing it and said it is great (but hard) and that recruiting is really hard.
Just like NCAA 14 recruiting you scout, offer a scholarship and then max your points on a guy. Choose the earliest visit as possible against a decent team & bring in a ton of guys to get that boost bonus. Make sure you win.

I’ve gotten 19 four/five stars in my first class as Baylor. Recruit to your pipeline states as extra bonus. Find guys who have a trait your school has in abundance. Shuffle your board every week to find guys who aren’t being recruited. Offer them a scholarship to start getting ahead even if you don’t have any allocated points towards them you’ll zoom to the top.

I will be playing this for the next 72 hours.

The last football game I played was Madden 18.  It's not . . . terribly different than that.   I suppose there's only so much you can do with a football video game.

Playing as Nebraska is dope.  UTEP is currently down 20-7 in the 2nd quarter.   Eventually I'll learn how to do a zone read.

2 favorite features so far: the kicking game can actually be a bit challenging, and the clock drains instantly when taking a knee to win the game.

Also,

Nebraska - 33

Colorado - 7

You can change kicking settings to tap and tap or tap/hold.
