"The Rock" gives $1MM to Miami football

The 35-year-old wrestler-turned-actor and his wife, Dany Garcia Johnson, announced a $1 million gift Tuesday to Miami's football facilities renovation fund — the largest gift former Hurricane student athletes have ever made to the university's athletic department.
The Hurricanes' football locker room will be renamed in Dwayne Johnson's honor.

"Dany and I have always said that being a student athlete here at the University of Miami has always been a tremendous part of our lives," Johnson said. "The skill sets that we learned here as student athletes, talking about commitment, talking about sacrifice ... those skill sets are invaluable."

I've always told my wife that if I win one of those $300 million powerball's I'm going to quit my job, go to UNL, and try to walk on the team. After I graduate then I would give a good amount of money to the University. Oh, and do a few other things with the cash........... :)

 
Supposedly he is a really down to earth guy. He played there when Tuberville was an assistant. Of all the famous sports people that Tuberville is around his two sons were most impressed that their father knew "The Rock".
