The Say Something Nice About Iowa Thread

I drove through Iowa about 25 years ago when I moved to Colorado. I thought the rows upon rows of corn were actually pretty cool.

Des Moines has a good summer concert scene, the Englert theater is nice in Iowa City.  They were very progressive in being one of earliest adopters striking down bans on interracial marriage and welcoming marriage equality.  A pork tenderloin sandwich in the state is usually second to none anywhere.  Iowa 80 largest truckstop in the world?  Iowa HS players like Trev Alberts that have chosen to cross the river and play for DONU.

I've had several uneventful and semi-pleasant road trips through Iowa on my way to Illinois and Minnesota.

This whole topic reminds me of an episode of The Office...

German Minister: Would the family care to say something?
Dwight: You had black hair and then gray hair.
Zeke: You were the aunt to my cousins. Most of your life you were 5'4”, at the end you were 5'1”.
Oscar: They're a descriptive people.

Henry: Anyone mention her height?
Zeke: Yep.
Henry: Land size? [all shake heads] [removes hat] Shirley, at 1600 acres, you have the largest farm in the area. Sharing borders with six other farms. Including my own farm. And your nephew Dwight's. [replaces hat] OK. [drives away]
Dwight: So, let's get it going.
