Yes. This episode was all about using plot tools to move pieces around the board; the phone was the tool they used to get Rick through the grieving process and back into normal mode.

 
They didn't waste any time replacing T-Dog with another token black guy.

I hope they just start calling him T-Dog and go on about their business as if nothing happened.

 
I'm a little disappointed that Michonne didn't pop out and cut Merle's head off. That guy drives me nuts with his robot arm.

I don't mind Daryl. I think Norman Reedus is pretty good actor.

Merle reminds me too much of some sketchy meth heads around here
