They have to be coaching to lose....

I think he genuinely wants to win... why wouldn't he want to kick a$$ the rest of the season? he could possibly keep his job..... maybe.... Give the guy credit I believed him after he signed his extension, he wants to be here long term.

We are the greatest fans ever and he knows it... thats why we want him out... it hurts to see us lose.
If he really wanted to win he would've made changes already. As long as he has been a head coach and OC he has to know when to change the offense when it's not working. Except he gets into these play calls of 7 passes in a row or 7 runs in a row and doesn't throw downfield much. Maybe he should've gotten the hint when nebraska is the only football team running the WCO in college. He just doesn't get it.

Auburn runs the west coast offense.

SO does USC! :) BC just sucks at using it.

Agreed.

If he plans on coaching any sort of football after Nebraska, he'll work his butt off trying to wins a couple more games before the season is over. He'd be an idiot not too... Wait a minute...

Weird..Huskers lose 36-14 but Callahan would want to win and not throw it.....right!!

Just because we didn't win doesn't mean he wasn't trying to win. :) I think as a coach you always try to win. It's a pride thing. Most have the attitude that if I'm going down, I'm going down fighting! :)

I'm appreciating what Zac Taylor, Brandon Jackson, Carriker, Bradley, et. al, did last year more and more. I'm not really pining for the past so much as I think we had lots more talent last year on both sides of the ball. No one ever makes any plays this year.

I hear a lot of people say there is a lot of talent on this team but for one reason or another it never reveals itself. Great players make big plays even on bad teams. We don't overpower people, nor do we outrun people. We have no one like Macklin from Mizzou or Bowman for OSU. I'm ready for the return to having the nice blend of All-American superstars and the dedicated, high-energy athletes who might not be as talented but will certainly help you win lots of games and not hurt ya by dropping passes, missing tackles, sustaining penalties.

My undefeated junior high teams had more discipline than this current crop of Huskers. Rant over.

I was disgusted during the new/old tunnel walk, 84000 fans screaming for our program's tradition being restored, and then they cut to Callahan leading the team onto the field. That prick had his head down, no emotion, with the guys behind him looking like a funeral procession. I thought, if this guy isn't hyped up for this game, then how can he expect the players to be. Osborne showed little emotion, but he didn't ever look like he was conceding defeat before the game even started!!

I guess it's appropriate that Callahan looked like he was about to witness his own funeral. Cut that guy QUICK!!!

Anyone else see the same thing I did??

I and several others around me noticed the exact samething. Callahan's unemotional expression is unfortunately rubbing off on his players. They have no confidence in their coaches, the system, or themselves.
