They just dont get it.

It sounds like they'll be getting it too. It won't fix their problems, it will only delay their downfall.

Poor management and greedy unions are the downfall of this industry IMO.

Are eight jets really necessary for each company? I liked that one of the committee members likened the 3 execs showing up in jets to someone showing up at the soup kitchen in a tuxedo and top hat. I believe it was the same member that asked what was wrong with the 3 "carpooling" and at least ride on the same jet to Washington. Each flight was $20,000 plus.

Its sad, but I dont think they are smart enough to get themselves out. All the big 3 have done for 30 years is lose ground to the Asian car makers. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

 
I work my a$$ off just to make a good living from my business. If I screw up and go under the first people in line to make sure they get their money will be the IRS. If they won't help me, and they won't, then why do these companies get treated any different.

Another difference between Japan and the US. Toyota's CEO salary $1million, GM $17million....

I liked that CEO's comment that businesses that pursue money first are going to fail.

 
A diff perspective is a true MD that just practices medicine and takes care of his/her patients makes between 220k-350k. So a CEO needs to make more why?

Dangnabit nurses should make more also. :)
