Exactly.  If you're not familiar with the source material, then you really do not understand the parody.

While this didn't have me rolling with laughter, it did evoke quite a few chuckles.

I think it would have been funnier if the host had been Andy Kendeigh instead, because that guy looks more like Kendeigh than he does Kevin Kugler.  Easy rewrite, just say Kevin can't host because he's out calling a jai alai tournament in Nicaragua for Westwood One or something similarly stupid.  And Kendeigh fills in as host for Kugler so I'm not just pulling that out of my butt.  The guy playing Blake Lawrence did a pretty good vocal imitation and Sean Callahan, that's funny.  I give 2.75 mehs out of 4.
