I believe we got rid of the coaching that kept us from becoming the potential we have had. Even so...we'll be 10x more explosive as we were the past 2 years combined.

For those hoping we go back the the triple option you're going to be disappointed. Yes. . .there will be an option play here or there but don't look for a style that will be a lot different than what we ran the first half of last year. The main difference is we do have a coach that can adjust and game plan. He's taking some of the reads away from the QB in the passing game and putting them on the receivers. Watson taught some option routes but the difference was with the WCO being a timing and "spot" type of offense. The receivers had to run to X spot regardless of the defensive coverage because the QB was supposed to read the defense before the play was snapped. Now if the receiver gets out there and sees its different after the play has started he can break route and adjust. This should allow them to be able to "make plays" with the qb.

A team has to be extremely disciplined and well-coached to pull off an offense like Oregon or Auburn has. In my opinion, I think Oregon was more well-coached than Auburn last year on the offensive side of the ball. Oregon's offense could seemingly plug-and-chug with great success, even at the quarterback position.

Could we run this at Nebraska? Sure. Technically speaking, we could go back and run the wishbone if we wanted.

The better question is - should we? You need a lot of focus and discipline to run those offenses, something that has been missing from the offense for several years at Nebraska.

Bingo. Oregon had some many weapons at the RB, QB, WR spots that it was hard to pin-point where the ball was going to go. While, Auburn really only had one true threat on offense the whole season, Cam.

Auburn or Oregon? Who has the higher pay-roll? Go.

Dont be dreaming on 40 pts a game against the BigTen. Quite frankly we dont even need to score that much in any game. If a team has a good defense and offense can move the ball sustain drives that keeps the defense on their heels, most likely you are gonna win the game. IF you dont turn the ball over and have a million penalties, that is.

24 points a game with a good defense will get the job done 95% of the time.

If we are scoring 40 on a team, it must be against a terrible defense-Okie State cough, cough.

Give this group of coaches sometime to gel with players in the scheme. I expect improvement in OLine, QB play, and playcalling departments but it could take most of the year for the light to click on.

I didn't say we HAD to score 40 pts a game but give me an offense with the capability to score at will....the one we had the past 10 years hasn't been able to even think about scoring 30 a game....with the exception of 2007 and MAYBE 08.

Oklahoma ran the Diamond formation against us in the Big 12 title game a few times, didn't really work as well as the commentators made it seem.

Bingo was his name-o. Word on the street was that Callahan was going to play Keller come hell or high water because that was the deal he struck with Keller's dad in order to get him to come to Nebraska. I don't doubt it for a second.

Well if we score at will then we will score atleast 60 points a game with that logic. Seriously, you guys need have a reality check on what this offense is actually gonna do once the season starts. Its not gonna be like Oregon or Auburn scoring 50-60 points a game on some opponents. In my eyes it will be successful IF we able to score 24 points on teams like Wisconsin,OSU, Iowa, Penn State. Those offenses were years in the making, just because we are changing coordinators doesnt mean that everything is all better and offense will run up and down the field on teams.

that would be a good way to get t-mart, rex, green, and heard all 3 in the backfield at once! defenses wouldn't have a clue where the ball was going!
