This staff and recruiting

Numerous threads are talking about one facet or another in regards to todays (and to some part this season) melt downs.

A lot of folks are talking about recruiting and development etc..., but I ask this question as a fan who doesn't put a lot of stock in stars ie see Boise St, TO's runs etc.......

With this being said, Bo has consistently made comments that he recruits players who fit his scheme of what they (I assume the staff) want to accomplish. This makes complete sense to me. UNTIL you realize no one staff included can tell you what type of O (for example) we run. Multiple, spread, zone read, true option, power, a little WCO... How do you or can you recruit for this?

Barney recruits road graders, but Beck really wants the next game to use a lot of stunts with pulling guards. They recruit pass blockers, but now Beck wants to go all power and we have 6'7 O line man with no real leverage. We want a power run game, but recruit smaller, speedier backs.

Defensively, our DB's used to be a strong point, Pelini calling card. This year, game 6 before a consistent line up. So many misses at recruiting we had to move over SJB to CB. This brings me back to Raymond and the pre-season comments from Dennard and Evans about the changes. Again, players ill suited for scheme that were recruited for another? So many missed at DB we have to move a WR or even move a safety (highly rated) to CB and then go MIA?

Now I am a recruit and I look at NU. I like how they are honest about earning playing time, BUT then I see how the leading WR (through 5 games) is now completely absent. This same guy lit up the spring game. Coaches saw him in spring, fall and 5 games, but now gone. As a recruit I am like, damn, what's going on. What did JT do to lose PT? I also look at Bo's propensity to play an injured starter over a healthy sub ie Martinez last year and Rex at NW. I see blow out wins and blow out losses and no playing time for Carnes etc... Do I want to come here, bust my butt and not play until the guys in front of have graduated?

From the uneducated, outside looking in, we have some serious recruiting issues. The kids seem solid, many are highly sought after by other schools and then they get here with no development (RB's this year and DB's under Sanders the exception). Would make me wonder about NU as a choice. Kids are interested in winning and playing, not history and tradition.

There is an entire forum dedicated to recruiting, think this would be better suited there, wouldn't you

No because this is an issue for this program and possiby a reason for the poor play.

No stone unturned is the only way this program moves forward.

No. I thought that forum was to discuss recruiting as it related to specific players.

This is a question as to an issue that might be a source of some of our current and past issues as it relates to Wins and Losses.
