What I see in a lot of these posts from a lot of people is the stark realization that assuming some kind of transitive property from 2017 UCF's season to this season would occur was probably one glass of Kool-Aid too many.
Have to wait and see how our team fares against the run in our divisional games. We're not going to play too many teams that stand in the shotgun spread and air it out; our defense is built to stop the run, and our offense is built to run circles around some of the bigger, slower teams in the West.
Personally I think all of the deep psychological analysis of the program isn't warranted yet. We wanted this win so bad because it's a rivalry and it stings worse because of how we lost it, but if we go into game 7 at 4-2, that's really when the season begins for us. Take care of business against our primary divisional opponents and things all of a sudden look very different.
