This team needs a leader...

As usual, Martinez is the root of all evil.

Pelini is the cause for the loss, no other reason. Pelini selected Beck who called a great game for the first quarter, then decided to change the whole way the game was going. He put Martinez in a no win situation and destroyed what ever confidence the kid had.

That is on the staff, no one else. One interception we could live with, possibly two, but making the kid continue to try and throw the ball was just stupid, and Pelini is in charge of the coach that put him the situation.

Martinez did not allow 48 points. Our defense sucked worse than our offense period.
I agree for the most part, however I don't think Martinez' confidence is shattered. He's had rough games before and he's bounced back. His 2010 Holiday Bowl was abysmal but I think he has started off the season pretty well this year.

But the part I couldn't agree more with is the coaching. We got away from what was working, and asked Martinez to do what he simply can't do. Callahan did it with Dailey and we went 5-6.

OK, for those of you that realistically expected us to lose this game.........i am one of those......did we lose this game due to weaknesses you knew existed, before we even took a snap? my answer is hell yes, we lost as i expected, due to all the mistakes i saw left on the field......so, i am not surprised and i think we play a better game against OSU. we were not going to win this game, we were out manned in many ways.
Yeah. I thought we'd lose something like 42-31. I thought our defense wasn't ready for Wisconsin's offense, given the level they're performing at right now. I thought our offense would do better than they did, but that comes down to abandoning our game plan in the second quarter, and stupid penalties on offense. If somebody had told me before the game that in the second quarter we were going to pass the ball on 14/15 plays, I would have known that wasn't going to end well for Taylor or for us.

Right now, it's gut check time. The offense needs to eliminate the penalties, Martinez needs to improve at finding his checkdowns, and Beck needs to stay disciplined and creative with his play-calling. The Pelinis have their work cut out for them, I don't even know where to begin with the defense.

I expected a shootout, and for us to lose because of our young offense. What I didn't expect was poor offensive direction. We had them in the first quarter, then Martinez through picks and we stuck with the pass.

As far as the defense is concerned, it's still baffling to me. Poor tackling, poor technique in the secondary. I know they're young but man...I didn't think the drop-off from last year to this year would be this bad.

OK, let's see if Beck can put TM in a better spot next week, realize his limits and call some throws he knows he can make.

Trying to go quickly through the topics, I wondered "Why? are they going to do my gutters?"

Then I realized "Leader" and not "Ladder"
