Totally more athletic, agile and quicker without the braces that he wore during his playing time at NU. But those braces immediately come off when the combine comes and payday approaches. Felt like he held himself back until then.

That's all I'm going to say about that. Wish him the best though.

IIRC, he wanted them off and the staff were the ones insisting he keep them on and have a lighter load practice-wise. I don't think you're wrong about the timing, but I believe it was the staff protecting him from himself until he could get his payday more than him checking out or anything like that.

A few players on defense I wouldn't mind having back. The rest could hardly say they've transferred into a more lucrative situation.
I feel like some of these guys it's a grass isn't greener situation. Butler would probably be starting, and Seagren is still in our 2-deep. Gbayor and Thompson would've been in the linebacker rotation.

Shocked Williams is starting; Boerk got the bag; Gilmore had character issues at Kentucky and here, and gets rewarded?; I think Princewill got a bagged and wanted to play where his brother developed, but bit of a head scratcher he missed him by a year to play with him.

Rhule and staff did Fidone a favor! They knew the talent was there and they wanted to protect him so he could get to the league. I’d say their plan worked and in part why Fidone speaks so highly of Rhule!
