Thunderin' Bolts at Sam Houston

Wow. Almost got it of a based loaded, no out jam. But a two out bloop to right falls between three guys and two score.

New 2nd baseman and a first baseman who hasn't played in 2 years. I don't know who was in right field for that play. I know there have been nice days in Lincoln, but that's a play that can't be easily replicated indoors. 

 
The team had some very strong leaders last year with Schwelly, Hallmark, and Povich. New guys will have to step up. Let's look at this team in mid April and not mid February. 

 
It's not the loss, but the way it happened.  It does not matter if its Feb or April, you have to come out & show effort.  Not being sharp this early is not a surprise, but the effort was non-existant.   It was just a difficult game to watch.

2nd bagger can't sprint full speed to an OF spot on the ball without making the play (and others not getting hurt).  Otherwise he gets in the way and there is hesitation.  New guy or vet, they do these drills from HS to college to Pros. 

I think it was just nerves and a bad execution.
