Thunderin' Bolts vs Maryland

Sears with his 9th consecutive quality start ( only 2 player in country had 8 coming into the weekend), exite s game in the 8th with a chance to go 7-0 on the season.

 
Here we go…. Same scenario as one week ago. Quality start by Sears, lead 6-3 into 9th inning…. Blew it last week, can we close tonight 

 
Ballgame!!! Back on the right side of the win column. Good pitching, good enough hitting, although we did fail in some areas, shakey defense…. But lead series.. much needed

He leads the bullpen in innings, how much more do you want him used?  second in appearances.

Borst has the best stuff and should be closer but he isn't throwing enough strikes

Daiss and Worthley have been solid

Sanders and Froelich are the next tier

 
I disagree with score keeper. Should be one earned run as runs 2 and 3 easily, and maybe should have been called unearned. Misplayed ball in outfield and a dropped pop up , which actually hit infielder’s glove. Husker radio guys were very surprised it was ruled hit rather than an error. Pretty irrelevant bc it is a team game and the defense has played very well behind Sears all year, in comparison to some other games.

Throwing strikes is the problem with majority of our bullpen.  They are constantly getting behind batters & allowing them to sit on the fast ball.  Like I said before, control is an issue & it's not just one of them l.  Last night, 2 free passes. Control!
