Thunderin' Bolts vs Washington

I don’t think we can look past the fact that last year Sears was undefeated until the regionals, meaning we won the first game of the series almost all season and at the end of the year Mason was throwing just as well, if not better. Losing the Big 10 pitcher of the year (and probably top 10 in Neb history) combined with our number 1 guy this year is a killer. Yes, too many mistakes and our bats are inconsistent, but pitching is a problem. We gave up an astonishing amount of extra base hits yesterday.  I agree with you 100%, just throwing more onto the statement.
Not worried about pitching yet, but right now we are playing like a team of youth.

The issue here is we really aren’t a team of youth. We have experience up and down the lineup, Nunez aside, everyone else played and played a ton last year. That has me worried with the hitting and bone headed decisions made. This last weekend the OF was horrible with their depth and first step, half of the dozen or so extra base hits could have been tracked with better alignment and reads. Also Bolt has to figure out how we can manufacture runs as this team I don’t see hitting for average well, and no one “scares” you in the lineup. Hell 3 weeks in and does anyone know what the typical “lineup” will be because I don’t

with that said, pitching seems decent and we for sure have some youth there that will now be forced to step up with Mason and Tucker out
