While we've been focusing on the athletic side of the Big Ten expansion and rightfully so, I thought I'd point out a couple of developments, one athletic and the other academic, that are sure to be attractive to Big Ten presidents, chancellors, athletic directors and coaches when they meet in May (ADs & Coaches) and June (Presidents & Chancellors) about possible expansion candidates.

The first being the approval of the new Haymarket Arena while the other being the Nebraska Innovation Campus (aka Research Park). Also, check out this site detailing some of Lincoln's future ambitions in development.

I don't actually know what that second video is supposed to be at all, but cool! :P
I thought you went to UNL? No?

Innovation Campus is the new research facility the University is going to build on what is currently the State Fair grounds.

Of course, it'll take 20-30 years to complete the project, so that video doesn't show the space cars we'll all be driving by then. Other than that, it's pretty accurate.

I was going to Wayne State but am currently not a student anywhere.

I don't know why I thought that. May be the drugs I'm on. They're strong.

@GSG - did you get your space car from the back of a comic book?
