Titus Brothers tackle

My brother-in-law .... Michigan fan ... said on ESPN highlights at around 2:30am claimed that Titus Brothers wasn't actually part of the last play. But actually came from the sidelines to make the tackle on Eckers.

Has anyone else heard this claim?

On the umgoblue.com site, it looks like the Michigan linebacker, Pierre Woods, made this claim.

If this were true, wouldn't ESPN have some camera tape showing Titus either on the field before the play or coming of the sidelines? If true, wouldn't this be a huge scandle?

I highly doubt it, but would like shut down one more Michigan excuse for losing.

GO BIG RED

Looked to me like Bowman knocked their guy out of bounds. I didnt see anything like what they are saying. Excuses excuses.

I believe that Titus brothers was actually involved at the start of the play. He is our dime back and was used the series before when Michigan had four wideouts in and moved down the field.

Said this on RSS, and I'll say it here.

If you taped the game, go back and look at the field level replay. When Avant laterals across the field to Manningham, look back around the 5 yard line. You can see Titus Brothers roaming deep just incase the play broke deep. He wasn't involved in the play at anytime, until the end. Thank God he was playing deep.

Brothers actually should get credited with the tackle. The TE for Michigan was never OOB until Brothers cut his legs out from under him.

nice excuse. Brothers was the dime back that was waaay back in case of a hail mary.

but they had extra coaches out blocking for them. were they involved in the start of the play?

Bowman made the last tackle. Brothers was there, but Bowman made the hot that sent the guy out of bounds. Brothers was in at the beginning of the play.

haha. Brothers from the sidelines? They are kind of grasping at straws, no?

Brothers was in on the nickel package and like someone else said, was playing VERY deep on the NU side of the field. He came across and was the one that went after the legs of the MU ball carrier.

There was a guy that definatetly looked like he came in from the sideline that almost went in for a tackle and then stopped. a #86 i think. thankfully he didn't even touch the ball carrier but he made a move (maybe football instinct?) like he was going to close in on the ball carrier and then thought better of it!

i guess he could have already been out on the field but i don't think so.

had he made the tackle we'd definately have a legit controversy instead of just the "straw grasping" from UM fans.

er, "UM fans" or i guess in this case a UM player apparently...? with the "Brothers came off the sideline" BS?

some of the off-field guys that contributed to pushing UM all the way to a tight sideline were the two coaches (among others from the UM side) that were standing out there at the end of the play. IMO it looked like they somewhat prevented their own players from cutting back to the inside. at the very least they contributed to the chaos as they were much much closer than anyone from the Husker sideline.

not to mention some of their OWN players had to rush backwards out of the way of the play! no UM people on the field my a$$! :dumdum
